1. Put bait (cheese, bacon, chocolate) into the bait holder and move the rod to back of trap. Pull curved bar all the way back and hold it flat.
2. Press the rod into the slot in the plastic unit. Place it As mice seldom cross open spaces, position the trap against a wall with its curved end towards the wall. SuperCat is now ready for use.
3. Place the trap where you suspect there are mice. As mice seldom cross open spaces, position the trap against a wall with its open jaws facing the wall. Check the trap at regular intervals.

The patented safe-setting mechansim of the FSC Wood mousetrap makes the trap extraordinarily easy and safe to set. It eliminates completely the tricky (and often dangerous) fumbling that setting ordinary wood traps can entail. The trap is ready to use after placing a bait is stuck onto the bait-holder.
Gloves should always be worn when working with traps. It's not about the human smell on the traps. Rats and mice that live in and around buildings are not afraid of human smells. Wearing protective gloves is important for hygienic reasons. Mice and rats, whether dead or alive, can transmit dangerous pathogens through contact with fur or body fluids. Gloves protect against infection.
It is better to set several traps, even if you suspect only one mouse. In the case of a stronger infestation, several traps should be set up anyway.
Various baits like cream cheese, nutella or peanut butter can be used.
The FSC wood mousetrap SuperCat is particularly suitable for indoor use. Outdoors, the trap should be set up in a tunnel or box. This protects the trap from moisture and avoids problems with pets and other small animals.
The attraction of the bait is only 1-2 meters. Place the traps where the mice really run or where mouse tracks can be seen (excrement pellets, gnawing marks). Mice run mostly along walls, rarely across open spaces. Point the trap towards the wall as mice rarely cross open spaces.
The SuperCat traps are quite sturdy very robust and can be used many times.
The FSC® Wood Mousetrap SuperCat is safe for children and pets. But for reasons of hygiene, it makes sense to place traps out of the reach of children and pets.
Some mouse species are strictly protected. In Germany, this applies to the wood mouse, the yellow-necked mouse, the dormouse and all shrew species. Just like house mice, these are attracted to the bait and could also be caught with the mousetrap. If these species are present or if this becomes apparent during the course of control, no control may be carried out or control that has already started must be stopped. Before any (further) control measures can be taken, permission must first be obtained from the nature conservation authority. Resettlement using live traps must also be approved first.
According to our research and observations, used traps that smell like mice are more interesting and better accepted. The smell of a dead mouse does not bother the animals. The traps should therefore only be cleaned if they are very dirty and malfunctions may occur. To do this, clean the trap with warm water and a soft brush without soap, dry it and then refill it with bait. Wear gloves when working with traps for hygiene reasons.
