Rat Trap PRO SuperCat

Powerful and reliable mechanism

The combination of a smart trigger mechanism and an enormous force of impact are the key features of the Rat Trap PRO SuperCat. This system enables effective control of rats.

The rodents are attracted by an integrated peanut-butter bait. The trap contains no rodenticides.

For easy no-touch disposal of a dead rat, hold the trap with its jaws pointing downwards over a waste receptacle and depress the flap at the back of the trap to open the jaws: the carcass will drop into the receptacle.

A rat trap with many advantages:

  • Ingenious patented trigger mechanism
  • Fewer misfires
  • Strong striking force
  • Effective rat control
  • Baited ready for immediate use

With the SuperCat Rat Trap PRO, SWISSINNO introduced a new development that, according to its findings, meets current mechanical trap guidelines and is certified under Section 18 of the German Infection Protection Act.. https://www.umweltbundesamt.de/dokument/liste-ss-18-infektionsschutzgesetz

Easy catch system - reliable and effective

The Rat Trap PRO SuperCat is the product of an extensive development and testing process and benefits from the feedback received on the previous model. Based on this data, a product was finally designed as the result of an extensive development and testing process.

Combining the "easy catch system" with the increased tension in the spring of the striking mechanism has enabled the Rat Trap PRO SuperCat to be precise and efficient compared with previous rat traps.

How to use Rat Trap PRO SuperCat

1. Tension the trap and remove the protective cap

To set the Rat Trap PRO SuperCat, simply depress the lever to open the jaws and remove the protective cap from the bait.

2. Set trap

Rats travel mostly along the bottoms of walls and seldom cross into open spaces. So place the trap against a wall with its open jaws pointing towards the wall.

3. Dispose the rat

For easy no-touch disposal of a dead rat, hold the trap with its jaws pointing downwards over a waste receptacle and depress the flap at the back of the trap to open the jaws: the carcass will drop into the receptacle. The Rat Trap PRO SuperCat can then be used again right away.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions
How does the rat trap PRO SuperCat work?

The bait attracts the rats and is made from the long-lasting food ingredient peanut butter, which has an irresistible attraction for rodents. As soon as the rat activates the smart trigger mechanism, the trap snaps with enormous force and kills the rat quickly and reliably.

Should gloves be worn when setting traps?

Gloves should always be worn when working with traps. It's not about the human smell on the traps. Rats and mice that live in and around buildings are not afraid of human smells. Wearing protective gloves is important for hygienic reasons. Mice and rats, whether dead or alive, can transmit dangerous pathogens through contact with fur or body fluids. Gloves protect against infection.

Can the bait be replaced?

Yes, we offer replacement bait syringes which will extend the life of the trap for multiple use, after all of the bait has disappeared.

Is the bait toxic?

The bait is a food based peanut butter product. The bait contains nuts, so individuals with nut allergies should exercise caution.

How often can one use the trap?

The SuperCat traps are very robust and can be used many times.

Where shall I put the trap?

The attraction of the bait is only 1-2 meters. Place the traps where the rats really run or where rat tracks can be seen (excrement pellets, gnawing marks). Rats run mostly along walls, rarely across open spaces. Always place the traps on the side of walls or in corners, not in the middle of the room.

Rats often wander back and forth between indoors and outdoors. Therefore, setting traps on the outside of the building can speed up the fight.

How often do traps need to be checked?

Check traps set at least once a day. This is important or mandatory for a number of reasons: Dead rats can be disposed of before decomposition begins. In rare cases, rats caught in the trap are not killed immediately, only injured. Then they must be removed. Traps can be re-baited, reset or relocated to better locations as required.

The bait is gone, but the trap is empty. What happened?

You may have mice too. Mice can eat the rat trap bait without getting caught. Our best advice is to get a mousetrap too.

What should be observed when there are children and pets in the vicinity of the traps?

The Rat Trap PRO SuperCat is a highly effective pest control solution. For hygiene and safety reasons, it is best to place the traps out of the reach of children and pets.

What has to be considered when protected animals are present?

Some animal and mouse species are strictly protected (e.g. in Germany wood mouse, yellow-necked mouse, dormouse, shrews, or bilche, hedgehogs and songbirds). Like house mice, these are attracted to the bait and could be caught with the rat trap. If these species are present or if this becomes apparent during the course of control, no control may be carried out or control that has already started must be stopped. Before any (further) control measures can be taken, permission must first be obtained from the nature conservation authority. Resettlement using live traps must also be approved first.

Is it necessary to clean the trap after each catch to eliminate the smell of the carcass and ensure high capture success?

No, that is not necessary. Based on our observations, it can actually be beneficial if a trap already smells like a mouse or rat. Even the smell of a carcass is not inherently a problem. This can spark interest and reduce fear of the traps. However, heavily soiled traps can and should be cleaned with water for hygiene reasons. Be sure to wear protective gloves and avoid using soap.

How long does the bait last?

As long as the bait is sealed with the original cap, it will last for years. After removing the cap, the bait is attractive for weeks to months
